The Federal Ministry for Nutrition and Agriculture awarded its yearly prize for innovative scientific work aimed at reducing or replacing animal experiments on November 15, 2017 in Berlin to Dr Alexander Mosig and his team. Dr Mosig is the head of the junior research group INSPIRE (biochip-based organ models) at the Integrated Research and Treatment Center for Sepsis Control & Care at Jena University Hospital. The team conducts in vitro research on the human immune system in microfluidic systems.
